Our Mission

Our mission is to wholeheartedly follow Jesus and faithfully make Jesus followers so that the blessing of Jesus' reign is known by everyone everywhere.

Our Values

God's living word

We deeply value being a community that is grounded in, and shaped by, God’s Living Word.

Loving Jesus and others

We deeply value our call to whole-heartedly love Jesus and our neighbors as we love ourselves.

Unity

We deeply value pursuing God and all that He has for us – together – in oneness and unity.

Community

We desire to live our lives together in reconciled, united and caring relationships that Glorify God. We desire to be a community of believers that have genuine friendships and journey together through life's ups and downs.

Diversity

We desire to intentionally embrace, love and journey with those of any ethnicity, age, gender or economic status. Christ died for ALL, so we desire to follow his example of loving everyone.

Disciple Making

We deeply value intentional disciple making and desire to have an environment in which spiritual mentoring is the norm and, as a result, mature believers are investing their lives in building-up new believers.

CHildren and Youth

We desire to teach children to love and worship God. We also desire to disciple junior high students, high school students and young adults so that they become the next generation of Jesus followers that change the world.

Proclaim the Gospel

We deeply value our call to proclaim the Good News of the Gospel to those who do not know Christ as their Lord and Savior. We desire that all know Jesus and that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is heard by everyone in Whittier, everyone in this nation, and everyone in this world.

Summary of Our Beliefs

We believe the 66 books of the Bible to be the inerrant, infallible written Word of God. Christians are obligated to submit to its teaching in matters of belief and conduct.

We believe in one God eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is our Creator, Redeemer, Sustainer, and Judge.

We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice to pay for the sins of man, rose bodily from the grave and ascended to heaven where He is the only mediator between God and man.

We believe that people are created in the image of God and therefore have supreme value, but are fallen due to sin and naturally exist in the present age in a state of guilt and alienation from God. Through personal repentance and faith in Christ as Savior and Lord, one is born again into God’s family and receives His salvation. Salvation is based on God’s love and grace. It is received personally by faith alone apart from good works, which are the outgrowth of salvation and not its basis.

We believe that all Christians who are born again by faith into God’s family are spiritually one as members of the Body of Christ, the universal church. That relationship ought to be expressed by membership and involvement in a local congregation. All Christians are gifted by God for participation in a ministry of the Church.

We believe that Jesus Christ will visibly return to this earth to raise the dead and bring salvation and judgement to completion. We believe that all men are eternal creatures who will experience the judgement of separation from God in hell or the blessings of salvation in heaven.
